Sarah Huckabee Sanders to give GOP response to the State of the Union

ProudMNDemocrat
(20,982 posts)She is stupid enough to make a fool out of herself tonite in saying that Republicans plan to overturn EVERYTHING good Joe Biden and the Democrats have done.
The Republicans have NO plan for America other than the obvious.

(90,792 posts)Her left eye looks like its just a wee bit higher than the right eye.
Jaw line looks off-kilter, too. A wee bit lower on the left side.

(22,882 posts)If you look closely, you can see that her right eye seems to be looking straight ahead, while the other eye is turned slightly to the left. I noticed it when she was doing press briefings for Trump, and once I became aware of it, I couldn't not see it.
What baffles me is that this condition (strabismus) is surgically correctable, at any age. My sister in law (who was 20 years older than me) had an eye that was turned in to an extreme degree. She had surgery when she was in her 50s, and no one who saw her for the first time afterwards would have ever guessed there had been anything wrong with it.
Every time I see Sanders, I mentally side eye her parents for not having it taken care of properly when she was a child. In my sil's case, I don't think they knew how to treat it properly yet (she grew up in the 1930s), but the Huckabees don't have that excuse.
GreenEyedLefty
(2,120 posts)My son had this when he was little (very mild case). He wore an eye patch briefly to correct it. Some people need surgery to correct it.
ShazzieB
(22,882 posts)Both conditions are highly treatable and are usually diagnosed and corrected in early childhood, which is why it's rare to see an adult with eyes as noticeably misaligned as Sarah's.

(90,792 posts)You're here on a great night! Feels like there are loads of DUers who are all re-energized, after Biden's State of the Union speech! Hope so! We need EVERYBODY on their A-game in the months ahead. Cuz we need to KEEP the White House, build in the Senate, and take back the House.

(14,624 posts)do I have to come here and the first thing I see is the wonky-eyed Sarah?
Didn't we see enough of her during TFG's administration? I don't want to see or hear that thing ever again.

Isn't right-wing demagoguery fun?

(14,624 posts)who is her stylist, anyway? That was obviously make from Mommy's pillowcases. And don't you think a "Christian" governor should be a little more modest and not show so much leg? She's past 40 and her legs aren't that great./s

(90,792 posts)is NO HORIZONTAL STRIPES!!!
You might as well be wearing a sandwich board with Wide Load printed on it.
I was a chubby kid - and Ive had to count calories all my life. And one of the first things I learned, way early, was strategic dressing to emphasize the vertical and minimize the horizontal. Encourage the eye away from how broad your middle is. Vertical lines ONLY. You want to imply length, NOT width. P
And bright colors and pastels are NOT your friends. All they do is scream for attention. Why not just cut to the chase and wear a neon sign?
treestar
(82,383 posts)could hire a consultant, or professional shopper. Even I would know not to wear that (I'm not that great at it either).
A friend had a job in Macy's and did the looking for me, just bringing me things to try on. Looked a lot better than what I would have picked. Sarah needs that kind of help.

Don't get distracted.

The new Republican Credibility Costume for Lady Politicians? Good grief! Make sure the skirts got a nice short look-at-me hemline. And dont forget the boots - Im surprised theyre not shiny black, spike-heeled, and over-the-knee.

(53,550 posts)So does the GOP think that Sarah Huckabee is their next rising star?
We've all seen what happened to up-and-coming republicans who have given the State of the Union response in the past. It seems to be a career ending experience for many. In Sarah's case, it couldn't happen to a more deserving politician.
Scrivener7
(60,071 posts)No! No, you can't, can you?

(15,388 posts)Seems that's why they chose her to respond to Joe Bidens SOTU speech, in which he will try to describe the state of the real world. Not to mention that no other Republican was willing to take on "The Response" job.
And regarding Huckabee's inability to deal with truth, below is a link to a short article on Rachel Maddow's blog that was posted this morning.

However, I do agree that the Republicans believe drag shows, "porn" in the libraries, gas stoves, CRT, and all this nitnoi crap they're dishing out is more important than the economy. Oh, you forgot about The Border and Fentanyl.
