This was when I knew that he was the candidate, contrasting with others who painted awful pictures.

1. Contrast the way

Joe talks the positive message of doing and being able to move forward and make our country better with the way the GQP talks about how everything is evil and bad and we must revert to some era of overt bigotry and denial of reality. Like Roosevelt, and Eleanor, Biden acknowledges there is much work to do and speaks to our spirit to be determined and believe in ourselves that we can do the work and that we can be better and do better. It is a message that this country is not supposed to do great things just for the wealthy and privileged but for everyone.

The GQP on the other hand has, since the days of Nixon and before, always preached that we need to be afraid of each other and hide in our houses clinging to guns and keep "others" out of our communities, schools, stores and workplaces. Their message is always that only the wealthy know the way and can save us and so should be unfettered in anything they do.
