His interview about the matter was candid and forthright, and quite frankly, right on the money. He called Santos a sick puppy, and said he didnt deserve to be there, shaking hands with senators and the president.
It is almost hard to believe how far weve come in such a short period of time. I have been so traumatized by this entire turn of events that I actually remember the first time I was horrified hearing something on a national program when the day after President Clinton was elected, Somebody said that they were going to put their flag away for four years because this was not their country. Little did I reckon that 30 years later, the whole Republican party would be in bed with fascists, dictators, and former KGB leaders. I can only imagine what my parents would be saying if they were alive today. My guess is that they would be applying for renewal of their passports and urging me to leave while I still can.

(549 posts)How is it everyone has forgotten about Myth Romney's campaign of lies. Vulture capitalism buying and liquidating companies and costing thousands their jobs and the ultimate kicker for me, him putting his dog in a crate strapped to the roof of his SUV while on a family vacation. What kind of freakin sadistic animal does that!

Yes, Romney is the epitome of the venture capitalist, but thats America, and thats a country in which we live. We all patronize stores and firms run by guys just like him or worse.

(95,247 posts)You get no points for noise. You've actually got to do something, take a stand against the defiance of democracy itself which is the one goal of the Republican party today. That, and people like Romney paying less in taxes....

(25,553 posts)America is made up of these capitalists. Last I looked, he wasnt indicted for anything, other than the dog on top of the car hes not particularly abusive, and at least maintains a polite style when speaking to the press about his views and the opposition . That is what qualifies him as a decent Republican. As far as his policies go, thats another story entirely.
It is acceptable to give an individual credit for certain aspects of their character, when appropriate, and disapprove of them when appropriate. You know, when I suggested some weeks ago here that we need to go on the offensive, and do to them what they do to us man people here told me how were so much better than all that. That we cant stigmatize the enemy the way they stigmatize us. Now all of a sudden were not allowed to say anything good about anybody because thats heresy. I believe that you have to pick and choose your fights carefully with this crowd. The President did an exemplary job of that last night, and it puts the other side on the defensive. But what do I know, I just work here

(95,247 posts)He would be a 'Rockefeller Republican' in the parlance of youth, and these weren't half bad on many matters. Unfortunately at this point, such of that sort as survive in the party simply aid the radicals who ousted them from power. They remain loyal votes in almost every instance. Their presence lends a patina of respectability to even the worst of the radicals. They do not actively hamper the radicals' program, as 'moderate' Democrats do to policies popular with our voters nationwide.

(1,972 posts)...being the first presidential candidate to openly use a blatant racist epithet in front of millions of people in a televised presidential debate in 2012.
And this country is still reeling from the after-shocks.

Sources say the screaming orb might be the only potential candidate that would tap into Republicans' deep-seated, seething fury after this election.
Id take Lisa Murkowski over him.

(62,530 posts)he's just as much an opportunist shithead as the rest. he's just pissed he doesn't get all the "accolades" he thinks he deserves by trying to be the "elder statesmen". the problem with him is simple, he's obscenely transparent. A whole lot of nothing in a suit.
