It was the most disgusting, filthy, squalid stretch of highway I have ever travelled in my life, and I once took a bus from Puerto Quetzel to Guatemala City.
There was so much trash and debris on the road, I assumed there must have been a sanitation worker strike going on. The smell was reminiscent of my teenagers gym bag after a damp towel had been zipped up to ferment for a month.
That is NOT an exaggeration.
I was traveling at 70MPH with the windows up and didn't even stop to pee. I still felt that I should get a tetanus, rabies and hepatitis vaccine, just to be on the safe-side

(57,486 posts)I have been in all 50 states and can positively say that each and every one of them have areas that are cesspools. So, knock it off.
Lived in gorgeous, clean, modern, liberal Fayetteville for 30 years. Now in a Northern blue state and wish I could have just have moved the entire city here and replaced ____________.
