Do you think policies proposed by President Biden will move the country in right direction/wrong direction?
Right direction 71%
Wrong direction 29%
End snip.
Put that in your balloon, MTG, and float it.

(9,956 posts)... I was wrong... Biden wasn't in my Top 5 when the last primaries started. But we picked the right one... now, he's #1. It was a great speech!

(34,109 posts)I would have thought in a sane world that was entirely possible but I never thought in this country, at this time, after the last wreck and its hypnotic grasp of people, this was possible. I hoped after taking a breath after that incredible speech last night that it would help but I never thought I would see this.

(9,073 posts)I'm weird like that.
Trump's numbers were similar. 2019 has a net positive of 77%. 2018 was 70% net positive. The highest number in the poll's history is President Obama 2009 with 92% net positive. President Obama scored highest generally. Bush showed numbers similar to Trump and President Biden.
Trump's 2019 right/wrong direction was 71/27%. He did worse in 2018 with 62/36.
When you dig down, all the numbers generally go along with approval/disapproval. If you like the president, you like the president. If you don't, you're more critical.
Take away from the data: people who like the President giving the speech are much more likely to be the ones watching it (look at the comparisons).
So, about as expected.
