He knows it, too. I saw shots of his face and he seemed so strained. Like, "should I clap for this as a Democrat, or is that not a good idea?" His days are numbered for sure, but as a relevant piece on the playing board for the fossil fuel industry.

but we need him in the Senate. If he goes, his seat would undoubtedly be occupied by a republican. Our majority is too slim to risk that.
Meanwhile, he could have tried to show some enthusiasm and support.
