The pictures make it clear that the devastation is vast, it is very cold, and there is not enough help. It is hard not to imagine there are still live people in pockets under that debris, yet the areas hit are so widespread and resources are stretched.
This is clearly hell on earth.

and one estimate was even above 200K.

This could end up as bad as the Port-au-Prince earthquake in 2010 (there are conflicting and controversial numbers there, but 100K-160K are possibly the better estimates).

I bet California seismologists are really looking over the data from this quake.

The East Anatolian Fault is remarkably similar to the San Andreas Fault.

How much assistance is Putin sending? I believe many of the victims in NW Syria were already the victims of Putin's warplanes. Horrific.
