It's too late. They are running out of time. They have to indict before this or that happens. I see no evidence the investigations are running out of time. I see no evidence the investigations are slowing down. Once there are indictments the trials will happen no matter what. The elections do not matter.
There is still plenty of time to indict the people at the top. That is a fact. Please don't ask me, How much time. Garland and Willis know how much time they have. Ask them.

(4,913 posts)Yes I saw another prosecutor tell Wallace the world is ending, we are all doomed when it comes the investigations , we are running out of time.. Then the same prosecutor told us about the Proud Boys trial and the evidence that connects them to Trump campaign. He talked about the multiple trails going in the same building, at the same time, all connected to the attempted coup. Evidence that may be used against the people at the top.
He kind of contradicts himself.

(24,312 posts)there will be no federal trials. Only pardons. I think even if indictments happened today, they could delay trials until January 2025. Then the only hope will be the state charges.

(8,387 posts)If Trump wins, he will pardon all J6 defendants. Thats not some doom and gloom outlook. The hope is that he does not win.

Mr.Bill
(24,312 posts)for some serious indictments to happen to the people at the top of this mess?

(21,379 posts)what year would a Trump trial happen. Getting Trump to a trial has been taking at least 3 1/2 years. That puts a Trump trial into 2025-2026, which means that Democrats better win the presidency in 2024 and 2028.
The state trials have more time seeing as pardons are not a consideration.

(21,379 posts)The Iowa caucus is Jan. 23rd, 2024 and DOJ gives a 60 day buffer zone for elections. Will DOJ consider the primaries, elections? DOJ may have less than 10 months.

(21,379 posts)Facts are that the J6 committee and state prosecutors have been way ahead of DOJ in investigating Trump and his inner circle.
fff you can call that doom and gloom but waiting to investigate crimes is a piss poor strategy and without a doubt DOJ waited at least a year and longer.
Maybe everything is going according to plan and as you have been saying for months that indictments are imminent. DOJ only has a 12 month window before primary elections begin.

(4,913 posts)Nobody knows what Garland has been doing or is doing. How's that for a fact. We gets bits of information once in a while and then people appear on TV and give their opinions. There was a reason the J6 committee was ahead of the DOJ on certain investigations. That doesn't mean Garland failed or is incompetent. They are two completely different investigations.
Stating the DOJ waited at least a year or longer to start investigating Trump and his inner circle is not backed up by evidence. No one knows what Garland was investigating when it comes to Trump and his inner circle. Garland must have been investigating people like Eastman and Clark long before he raided Clarks House and grabbed Eastman in a parking lot. He had to gather evidence and then present it to a judge to get the search warrants. Those investigations must have started early on.

(50,989 posts)bits of information once in a while. We get a flood of subpoenas, and a paper trail that leaves NO doubt that Smith is investigating the central perpetrators and witnesses.
Stating that Smith did NOT wait to start investigating Trump and his inner circle is easily proven by an easily followed paper trail.
But you're right. There is, by contrast, NO such evidence that Garland was investigating any of them.
To you the lack of proof Garland investigated is proof Garland investigated.
Yet somehow we all pretty much can see exactly where Smith is going.
Funny, that.
