I could see Kareem towering over Congressman Lewis as they came in to the meeting room. It was great seeing Congressman John Lewis tell his preaching to children story.

So talented in so many different fields. Of course he was incredibly gracious about his record falling.

There was a book written recently about him and John Wooden. The photo on the book cover was the two of them during Kareem's playing days. On the back was a photo of the two of them as older men--Kareem, tall and dignified, John Wooden, elderly and stooped, holding onto Kareem's arm. It was an incredibly poignant photo.

Also, a shout out to LaBron. When he turned pro, I was afraid that he would end up as many talented young athletes before him did when they had a lot of money and fame suddenly thrown at them. He's had a great, long career and from the little I know, a stable family life, and has done some good charitable work.
