I finally understand it: George Santos essentially offered an alliance to Kyrsten Sinema.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/02/10/santos-sinema-romney-state-union/

Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) claimed in a television interview Thursday that Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) offered him words of encouragement shortly after he was rebuked by Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) for seeking out a prominent place on the House floor ahead of President Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday.

On Friday, a spokeswoman for Sinema said the episode never happened.

“I know this is *shocking* but he is lying,” Sinema spokeswoman Hannah Hurley said in an email. “Kyrsten did not speak to him.”

Why would he do this? Tell a lie that is so easily debunked in real-time?

Because this lie in his Newsmax-interview wasn't intended for the TV-audience.

The intended recipient of his lie about Kyrsten Sinema... was Kyrsten Sinema.

His lie that she offered him support was HIS offer of support FOR HER.

His message to her basically was:
"Look. I'm a crook who's in this for the money. You're a crook who's in this for the money. Let's join forces and assist each other in milking our respective outrages for publicity. Let's be victims of the oh-so-evil Democrats and the oh-so-evil republican establishment."

The communication was simple: If Sinema wanted to agree to this alliance, all she had to do was to let Santos' lie about her slide.

Except Santos miscalculated.

Kyrsten Sinema knows that Santos means trouble.

It would be ludicrous for her to endanger her long-term gain as a Wall Street lobbyist and "non-partisan" Fox News political analyst for the short-term gain of cozying up with a scam-artist already under multiple investigations.

candidate to be a progressive liberal. Considering the 'R' alternative I voted for her. And now she's become
a drug mule, carrying their water to the Senate while accepting the max from Big Pharma. Even so, she doesn't
quite reach the level of prevarication of Santos.

Sinema doesn’t need this lowlife’s help. She is quite capable of losing support on her own!!😀
