It's all part of the mind set...

This old satirical piece really cuts to the heart of it: https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/i-dont-hate-women-candidates-i-just-hated-hillary-and-coincidentally-im-starting-to-hate-elizabeth-warren

Last two paragraphs:

I always tell my daughters they can be anything they want, so long as they don’t make other people feel uncomfortable. They can be as ambitious as they want, so long as they do it in an acceptable manner. They can reach for the stars, which you can see right up there on the ceiling painted to resemble a sky.

So bring it on, ladies! I’d love to see a female President. Just not Hillary Clinton. Or Elizabeth Warren. I am totally open to all other women leaders, but I have to admit that Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar are beginning to make me angry and I’m not sure why yet, but I know the reason will become clear soon, and I’m also wondering what they might look like if someone photoshopped their heads onto the bodies of prisoners and put them behind bars.

Reach for the stars, girls!

Elizabeth Warren is the best example. "Progressives" claimed to love love love her and swore they would've totally voted for her until she actually ran for president, then immediately there were all sorts of reasons why they didn't like her so much anymore and she wasn't, like, really progressive. Obvious.

all the progressive women I knew (and I am one) were excited to see her run.

We also knew that misogyny is really powerful, even with liberal men.

Harris was my second choice and I think she'd be a great president, but when she's mentioned, even here at DU, people dismiss her out of hand.

announced her candidacy said she wasn't progressive enough. Funny to see Warren go from progressive hero on JackPineRadicals to "Hillary 2.0" "school marm" "capitalist" "Republican" overnight, she didn't pass the Medicare for All purity test, and her student loan plan didn't forgive all loans.

Harris was one of the most progressive senators and overnight turned into a "cop" who put everyone in jail, a whole list of attacks from the left ready to go posted originally on Reddit, reposted at JPR.

The position Democrats are often in, being called tax-and-spend socialists by one side and corrupt corporate shills by another.

It’s not even a cross section of the typical Dem electorate.

Last time I dared venture over there it was filled with Pro-Russia tankies and was home to the Tulsi Gabbard Fan Club.

"Progressives" as in anti-establishment (the establishment being the Democratic Party) populists. Luckily they're losing support and probably won't be able to convince as many potential Democratic voters not to vote for Democrats (because they're corrupt establishment elites and not progressive) as they did in 2016 and tried to do in 2020.

Justice Democrats, Brand New Congress, Our Revolution, other organizations and populists with the goal of replacing Democrats with "progressives." It's not about JPR, they're just the nuttiest.

Joe is doing so well, they can’t attack his accomplishments, so they will plant the seed that he won’t survive to the end of his second term (statistically possible), and that a President Harris is a certainty if Biden is re-elected.

It will be very, very nasty.

Like my Trumpy neighbor did during the campaign. For some reason, however, he's gone silent while the Biden administration racks up its outstanding efforts. He can't whine that everything is terrible, because it isn't. He tried and it was (you guessed it) Hunter Biden's laptop. Now that's gone. Oh, well...
