https://god.dailydot.com/chick-fil-a-meatless-sandwich/The mental gymnastics a person has to do to genuinely be angry about a sandwich they do not have to eat sound exhausting. Whatever will they do when they find out Chick-fil-A has already been selling fruit and salad for years? Somebody get Fox News on the line, quick!

(47,940 posts)Cauliflower is one of my very favorite foods. If they can make a cauliflower sandwich, I'd like to try one. I'm not a vegetarian. I just love cauliflower.

The Kale Crunch. And it includes Dijon Mustard. You know what else is Dijon Mustard, Grey Poupon. There. I connected the dots.

(2,809 posts)This whole flap seems such a double crossed irony.
That horrid campaign got some gentle souls brutally murdered: that's blood on their hands. I couldn't whet any appetite for one of their sandwiches knowing what it cost.

(39,653 posts)that giving this sandwich a shot might be a good idea.
No business (especially the bigots at Chick-fil-A) would go "woke" unless there was some money in it for them.
Just like conservative outrage. Conservatives know full-well that they have no shot at raising money or winning elections unless they give the cult-ist base something to be angry about.

(34,302 posts)The concept of cauliflower chicken sounds good, if you consider it's served with pickles, Mayo and other stuff.
Catholics can now eat there on lenten Fridays. I've never eaten there and have no idea if they serve fish.
MissMillie
(39,653 posts)I hadn't thought of lent, but yeah, the whole idea of my post was that the chain made this choice based on market research--research that probably told them that this sandwich might make them some money.

I dislike cauliflower.
You cannot put enough cheese on it to disguise it.

Wait
..lets just ban cauliflower and any cookbooks that call for it in a recipe.

(2,300 posts)you'd still have to make this sandwich at home. There's dairy and eggs in the breading and bun. Also mayo. But good on them, its a step in the right direction. It does look good. Too bad its being served by a company that is using its profits to fund homophobic initiatives.

Actually, I don't think there are that many foods specifically mentioned in the bible - figs, grains, a mess of potage are about all I can think of.

(318 posts)I am vegetarian now but used to love their sandwiches when I was in high school (back when they would stand outside their mall stores handing out free samples). But even as exciting as having an option to eat at a CFA again with a non-meat sandwich, their foam cups are an abomination to the environment. So much for being stewards, as good Christians were commanded to be.
