UPDATE: All indications suggest NORAD is still hunting *something* near the U.S./Canadian border in the Lake MichiganHuron area.
A new NOTAM was just issued by TCCA over Lake Huron, and U.S. military aircraft continue to canvas the area.

(28,582 posts)But I have said for decades, that the nature of Science Fiction and fantasy films was to prepare us for eventual knowledge of things greater than we presently understand. When the military released some of those videos a couple years ago, I believe that it was the beginning of the education of the world citizenry that there is a lot which has not been Discussed previously.
In the interest of full disclosure, I have a nuclear family history of an observation which I detailed in a post sometime ago, which I believe to be legitimate , and would be inexplicable by any aeronautical standards but particularly those extant in 1949.

So
Ive been pretty immersed in the alien invasion genre, lit and film. I dont think Ive been sufficiently acclimated to the notion of first contact. LOL.
Still freaks me out, even though I, like Fox Mulder, BELIEVE.

(25,816 posts)I think believing that humans are the only intelligent life in the universe is very myopic.
But I don't think these objects are aliens. Probably China, I guess we'll eventually find out.

Ive been in contact with DOD regarding operations across the Great Lakes region today.
The US military has decommissioned another object over Lake Huron.
I appreciate the decisive action by our fighter pilots.
The American people deserve far more answers than we have.

The object has been downed by pilots from the US Air Force and National Guard. Great work by all who carried out this mission both in the air and back at headquarters. Were all interested in exactly what this object was and its purpose. 1/
2/ As long as these things keep traversing the US and Canada, Ill continue to ask for Congress to get a full briefing based on our exploitation of the wreckage.

will of course level the utmost diatribes because Biden doesn't instantly have all the answers at his fingertips to every possible question or scenario and then disclose everything to everyone. Instantly. But even if he did they would then level diatribes for having disclosed the answers they had in fact demanded.

(6,439 posts)I have a hard time believing it's some sort of object from a different planet. Like the god idea, I have a hard time fully imagining how life from a planet millions or billions of miles away would contact us.
But I don't have a hard time believing that some authoritarian types are working with China to create a nuisance or maybe just creating a nuisance on their own.
