Recovery will be pretty annoying, but after that you should be good as new!
Best wishes!

(2,047 posts)I had triple by-pass surgery in Dec. of 2010.
Quite literally the most difficult thing immediately post op was I couldn't communicate.
The surgeons and recovery nurses were asking me questions I couldn't answer because I had a tube going down into my lungs.
It kept me alive!! This isn't a complaint!!!
But if I had had a note-pad and a pencil, I COULD have answered them! IT would have been so much less anxiety provoking.
If you have a family member who will be present in post-op, you might warn them and have them available with a notepad and a pencil.

(90,830 posts)Sending you thoughts of strength and healing. Visualize the color green. Green is the color of healing, health, youth, new growth, revitalization, and Spring. I did that while trying to stay sane throughout my mom's first serious heart attack. Even wore green. It actually helped, weirdly enough.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
