Has anyone yet received notification that their federal tax return has been accepted?
Mine are complete, but I have not filed yet because I need to come up with some cash.
I electronically filed my wife's aunt's taxes a while ago. Received notification that her state taxes were accepted, but I have not yet heard about her federal taxes.
Thanks in advance.

(10,599 posts)I'm a CPA, and I usually set it up so that the payment is disbursed on the Due Date, not before, unless the client wants it.
The Returns I file are usually accepted within 12 hours of submitting. Only exception is within a day or two of the deadline, when their systems are being overwhelmed with submissions.

(23,078 posts)I'm getting a state refund, but owe federal pretty big.
I tried to file my state first, but TurboTax would not let me until my federal was filed. I haven't gone further to see if TurboTax will let me file federal with an April 18 payment.
Saw on network news the other night where the IRS is urging filers to wait before filing because they are trying to determine if certain payments received by the federal or state government are to be reported as taxable income.
Thanks for your response above.

(5,112 posts)I filed in late January and had my refund in less than a week. I always file within a couple of days of getting my W2, and always have gotten a refund in less than 2 weeks.

(13,096 posts)I completed them on a Sunday and received notice on Tuesday that they were accepted. But, that was the second week of January, perhaps they are getting busier! I also just received my tax return today. Interestingly, I requested automatic deposit, which I do every year, but they sent me a check this year instead.
Hope this finds you well!

(13,384 posts)and already got small refund back direct deposit from fed. I also get small refund from state but they always take longer to do forms. Both of mine were accepted by email same day I sent online.
I was actually shocked as I got the refund within a week!
I used the free software OLT from IRS. My second time using it.

(77,284 posts)Prior years, I get the "IRS Has Received" & "IRS Has Accepted" emails in 2 or 3 & 5 to 7 days, respectively.
It's been pretty consistent for the last several years.
