(7,955 posts)Pres. Carter was the first vote I ever cast in a presidential election. I believed in him then, and I never lost faith in him. I don't think there could be a better example of what a human being is suppose to be. May he and his family find faith and solace in each other during this time. President Carter, you have no idea how much you will be missed.
What happened, btw? I've been dealing with my own bout of fibromyalgia and have been pretty much out of it. What took him to the hospital? Was it a return of cancer?

(3,460 posts)Thank you Senator Warnock for a fitting and lovely expression of love and comfort for the Carter family. President Carter enriched this country greatly by the path he trod in his long life. I am grateful to have called this fine man my President.

(90,835 posts)Fucking reagan beat him in 1980. He remained my president anyway, through what would have been his second term. reagan was a photo-op Christian. Jimmy Carter is still the real deal. Hes lived his faith.

Jimmy Carter founded Habitat for Humanity and actually worked on the sites. An honorable man and a humble man. A life well lived. When will Ron ban his books?
