(4,168 posts)4. Jimmy Carter had much to do with encouraging
the others in the Democratic field to unite behind Joe Biden, I believe. I remember reading that several visited with him around the beginning of March 2020. I speculated then that he made a convincing case for going ahead and suspending their races and endorsing Joe.
