I Have Something To Say About Newsweek

On the home page of my browser it scrolls through headlines from news outlets. The headlines I have seen for the past month from Newsweek are Washington Examiner propaganda stuff.

There is a headline right now from Newsweek that reads, "Fetterman's Hospitalization is Reminder Media Lied to Get Him Elected."

That my friends is Fox News stuff.

I guarantee this, if I see Newsweek links here I am not going near them, to each his/her own.

2. They changed hands a while back and first tried to go liberal. That didn't

make them much money, so they u-turned and became the conservative propaganda rag you describe. They've been pretty consistent at that for a few years.

It's a shame. They were a decent source once.

It sucks. It’s a waste of time and money.

Fake news, indeed.

5. We aren't allowed to push right wing talking points

but we can post right wing articles if we add, oh my, how terrible is that? The narrative is what matters. President Biden's trip to Ukraine was a fantastic move. Ukraine is worried that support for them is slipping, what a way to reinvigorate that support along with sending a message to Putin that the civilized world is still behind Ukraine. I don't really give a shit what MTG thinks.

Send in more tanks and maybe slip in a few F-16's.

linking Newsweek or other RW media, including the Washington Examiner. If enough users do this, it might make a difference.

ON EDIT: I just reactivated the Edge news feed just to discover what it being presented. I see the link to the Newsweek article mentioned in the original post. In the Edge news feed, there are links to articles from many sources. I do not care for news feeds, and I am going to disable mine once again.

The reputable Newsweek of my youth died sometime in the early 2010s.

Some fringe company bought the rights to the name and basically put out stuff that is maybe one step above the National Enquirer at best.

Remember, this is the magazine that gave John Eastman space to write a column in fall 2020, just before the election, claiming Kamala Harris was not constitutionally eligible to be VP because both of her parents weren’t born in the US.

11. Newsweek is a sad shell of its former self.

Don’t know what exactly happened, but whenever I see it, it reminds me more of a gossip sheet than a newsweekly.

It’s sad, because my dad had a subscription back in the early ‘70s, and I credit Newsweek for stoking my interest in politics and current events. I read Watergate stories from start to finish.

It also had a lot of really good columnists and guest columnists.
