Friends,
We wanted to share the latest news on House Majority PACs efforts to take back the House in 2024. Today, HMP announced a $45 million New York Fund program for the 2024 election cycle.
New York will be critical to Democrats success next November. Since it is not a Presidential or Senate battleground, New York lacks top of the ticket investment to drive the Democratic message and turn out Democratic voters. And its an incredibly expensive state in which to communicate.
$45 million would be a record investment on the House ballot for one state, because we know the path to the Majority goes through New York. Thats why House Majority PAC will be the largest investor in New York Democratic campaigns in 2024 and with your help, we will flip these New York districts blue and take back the House.
Democrats have a clear path to winning the Majority in 2024, but only if we start laying the groundwork in 2023 - and that means raising money and executing well-crafted strategies now.
It will take hard work, but together we can take back the House. Were proud to have you on this journey with us and thank you for all you do!
House Majority PAC, the main super PAC aligned with congressional Democrats, will unveil a first-of-its-kind, $45 million fund this week dedicated to winning back four seats Republicans flipped in New York, and targeting two other competitive districts. Republicans currently control the chamber by only a five-seat margin.
The planned Democratic infusion would dwarf outside spending in the state by either party in recent election cycles, and reflects just how central traditionally blue New York has become to the national House battlefield. Of the 18 districts nationwide that President Biden won in 2020 that are now represented by Republicans, New York is home to six.
The path to the majority runs through New York, Mike Smith, the groups president, said in an interview outlining its plans. Its not just us seeing it. It is the Republican Party seeing it. Its every donor around the country seeing it.
Mr. Smith said his group was still raising the funds, but planned to move unusually early in the election cycle to try to reshape how voters view those six newly elected Republicans from Long Island, the Hudson Valley and Syracuse. Many of them succeeded in portraying themselves as common sense moderates in suburban territory that Democrats had come to dominate.
