the point is it's nobody's business but a woman's and anyone else she chooses to involve in the process of her own free will, like any other healthcare decision.

When the rethug said "abortion is not healthcare" to me I was taking that as saying "abortion has nothing to do with a woman's health". So my reply was meant to show that not every woman decides to have an abortion for reasons pertaining to her health. (I'm thinking of an 18 year who just got pregnant, her boyfriend has vanished, she wants to go to college... she could carry the baby to term but just don't feel ready for motherhood. That sort of thing)

But certainly once they have decided to have an abortion and engaged a doctor to help, that is most certainly "healthcare".

Once again, we have allowed the zealots and right wing of the Republican Party to frame the narrative. We have allowed the word "abortion" to take over rather than the health of a woman. The patriarchy declared a long time ago that women do not have value; therefore their lives are not important and EVERYTHING takes precedence over a woman's life.

I am so disgusted I just don't have words. . . .

She is exactly the type of legislator that Virginians have to worry about. Youngkin has said that he wants a 15 week ban on abortion which is a lie. I believe this legislator has already sponsored a bill that makes abortion illegal with no exceptions. Youngkin would sign this bill in a second because he is desperate for national street cred with the conservatives.

Youngkin has proposed reviewing the AP African American Studies course. He will of course recommend that it be dropped because the curriculum is woke and contains CRT. He cannot be outdone by DeSantis.

I'd say to remove a rape baby would be a health decision. And how about removing a closet GOP dude's baby? Sounds like a health issue to me, mental health not having to raise a kid with any entanglements to a regressive. So why doesn't the media ask how they are going to pay for all the extra disabled people? And ask how are they going to fully fund adoptions including reimbursing the mom for carrying the kid 24-7 with some compensation for the routine damage of gestation and birth?

Pregnancy can cause damage to the health of a woman's reproductive system (e.g., ectopic pregnancy). Therefore, abortion can be a preventative measure to protect the health of a woman's reproductive system.

An ectopic pregnancy is most definitely related to reproductive health care. The idea that immediate surgery isn't being done until a woman nearly ruptures or, in fact, does rupture over a non-viable pregnancy is callous, medically ignorant and highly dangerous.

Read an article about a case just yesterday. Also read that a number of hospitals have stopped reporting on these cases because they don't want the bad PR or flak from Red State politicians.

Cowards and ghouls!
