Sneed noted that opposing attorneys had gone to significant lengths to serve Miscavige with the lawsuit filed in Tampa federal court last April. (23,552 posts)fraud, kidnapping, slavery......... all went on, in LARGE quantities, in Scientology, and they were basically untouchable due to freedom of religion laws. (I'm not saying what they did was legal, just that being able to even get inside and investigate it, was basically impossible.)

(54,802 posts)I learned a lot from her accurate series. The whole thing is insane. Basically, if you had fame and big bucks you were targeted and could go to the top very quickly. I wonder how much $$$ Tom Cruise has given them in total (so far that is). The whole time I watched it my mind couldn't fathom the level of corruption and terror used constantly in this organization/religion(?).

(21,834 posts)churches and religious groups in general because of the 1st Amendment. That's why Warren Jeffs and his "merry band" of child abusers in fundy Mormonism got away with their crimes for decades.

(23,552 posts)he was aware of the "serving" process and was intentionally avoiding it, which the judge declared as good as "being served".
I'm a little perplexed by this statement:
"Process servers tried to deliver court documents to Miscavige 27 times between May and August at 10 church properties in Clearwater and Los Angeles and were turned away by security."
How come these attempts happened last August, and the judge let him have another 5 months of blissful freedom before declaring him served? This hearing should have occurred last August.

(89,294 posts)a Scientology auditor, whatever-the-fuck that is. I got away from him at the first opportunity. I remember him talking it up, and I kept getting a vague feeling that an attempt was being made to sell me on the whole sordid stink-pot. It made me want to run for the nearest exit.

Kimmel had him on and salivated all over him. And I love Kimmel and his anti Trump monologues. I don't know if he's been on other talk shows promoting his film. And the comment on YouTube underneath the Kimmel appearance were all so flattering to him.
