Raskin to Boebert: Democrat is the noun. When you use it as an adjective, you say Democratic.. As if every time we mentioned the other party it just came out with a kind of political speech impediment like, oh, the Banana Republican Party.

(77,795 posts)it. I have posted many times how the -CRAT meme originated with a-hole Frank LUNTZ's pseudo-scientific focus groups and how he developed talking points words with good and bad connotations for the GINGRICH zombies to use, "DemoCRAT (party)" being one BAD one. Posted that for years.
It wasn't until a couple or three years ago that I hit upon the Grammar angle, saying that one legitimate factor was that -CRAT grated on the ears partly because "wrong" grammar has that effect. I doubt that anybody, including high profile Dems, would glean insights from lowly me on an internet board.
*** While we're at it, I'll also claim that the DU-ism of "K&R" originated with me, from watching threads SINK without a Kick while being Recced.
