If your newspaper never pisses you off, you need to change papers

I hear folks bemoan an editorial position or not like an article because it criticizes someone they support and declare the publication a declining rag. And maybe add they're canceling their subscription.

I'd suggest turning down the sensitivity and maybe letting contrary thoughts roll around. Or at least tolerate a different position. That's one of the things on democracy depends upon.

They've not only gotten rid of letters to editor, they've also done away with editorials. As for "news" they rerun stories 2 or 3 days in a row. You also can't get it delivered, so I only get the online version. Reading it once a week for five minutes is about all it takes to get the total of their reporting. They don't even bother with high school sports scores, or college, or the pros.

I miss the old locally owned paper.
