Would you be surprised if you found out that some FBI agents were involved in attack on Capitol?

I remember how Rudy bragged about the help he was getting from FBI agents, both active and retired.

The FBI of Donald Trump and Christopher Wray were capable of joining the insurrection, in my opinion.

I doubt that a lot has changed with the FBI since January, 2021.

I would not be surprised if we heard this news.

surprised. Oddly, Lawrence O'Donnell was just talking about the FBI on his show just now. All I heard his say was the agents helped Trump because they liked him.

I don't see any justification for being surprised if that were to be revealed to be true. Those entities are huge (number-of-employee-wise), treat force as a means to an end, and tend towards right wing authoritarianism. If anyone ends up surprised when one of them is revealed to be an insurrectionist... that seems pretty naive to me.

asked Christopher Wray to investigate the intelligence failures leading up to the J6 insurrection and last I checked, Wray has refused to do an investigation. So maybe we should start with Wray and work down?

After watching Lawrence O'Donnell talking tonight about corrupt Trump fan and FBI DC Field Office Chief Steven D'Antuono, I know there was at least one.

D'Antuono is the one who insisted he was "inclined to believe Trump" that Trump had given over all the classified documents last May. He was overruled by Main Justice, thankfully, and 100 more classified documents were recovered after the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago. D'Antuono was also the same guy who demonstrably lied that the FBI had no evidence at all of potential violence on January 6. FBI Director Chris Wray never investigated D'Antuono over this lie about Jan. 6 evidence. Instead he put him on the Trump documents investigation. That is OUTRAGEOUS.

D'Antuono resigned/retired from the FBI last December after the Special Counsel was appointed on the Trump investigation.

I think they would not have risked an active FBI agent getting caught or identified bashing in the exterior windows of the Capitol. If that had happened, the subsequent lack of action on the part of the FBI would have been the smoking gun that brought the Bureau down.

But funneling information to the mob via its leaders in the House, the White House, or the Willard Hotel? That would mean that the FBI agents actively involved also either helped with, or at least were aware of, the effort to thwart aid to the Capitol police arriving until hours after the breach. I find that not only plausible, but probable.
