I was startled to hear my 80 YO mother scream from the other room....

"I want my stuff"

As I ran to her with concern, I was relieved to see she had channel surfed to Faux News and was screaming at the TV! She was viewing a clip of Billo talking about how Obama voters wanted "stuff." I had to when I saw that. She yelled again, "I voted for Obama, when are they going to deliver my stuff?"

Forgive me, but this, coming from my mother, who worked all her life and raised seven children on her own after my father died, was a sight to behold. She normally doesn't have much of a sense of humor, but it was funny!

She always gets into it with opposing fans. We had the Raiders here and were in the midst of Raider fans when she called out a guy five rows down for what he was yelling. He was a big dude and he swung his head around with a look that could kill. His face softened into a wry smile when he saw he was looking at my mom. I told her, "Ma, you're going to get me killed!" I cant begin to tell you about when the Dodgers came to town. Aye!

My mom's 82 and she comes up with some good ones.

Like the other day someone (stranger in waiting room) said she loved my salt/pepper hair and my mom piped up with "Yes, she's going to be like me, going prematurely gray."

She totally gets it, of course!

I have a feeling you're going to be telling that story over and over to different people. I LOVE it!!

That sounds like something my late father or his beloved sister would have said.

Give your mother a big DU hug from us and tell her not to hold back her wicked sense of humor, and tell her it got some laughs here, OK?

Thanks for sharing that!

A sense of humor is so valuable in these times, especially if you're
80 years old. I've never heard of this, but I imagine there's a humor gene in our DNA.
Humor seems to run in families... I wonder if Faux News/Bill O. realizes how many people
watch it for the humor?

mine passed away 5+ years ago and would be 87 now. At least I have her former neighbor for a friend (but I unfortunately moved away, but talk to her somewhat often on the phone) who's in her late 80's and converted to Dems in either 2004 or 2008!!! :^)

Do the Republicans on food stamps and Medicare think that Romney would only taken those entitlements away from
Democrats?

Romney didn't even give his staffer's a tax fare home, after they worked their arses off to try and get him elected.

One day last summer she was sitting on his porch for a visit. She called me over there and said she was going home in a couple of minutes and would I mind going to McDonald's for her since she didn't feel like cooking. She gave me $20 and told me what to get and then she told me to just keep the change. I looked at her neighbor and said, "Cool! I'm a liberal democrat and I love getting free money and stuff." He gave me a look that could kill and I just laughed as I walked off. Now, when I go to visit her if he's outside he won't even look at me.
