I could not listen to more than a sentence or two...

at a time of the slob's "speech" but did start thinking-- orange asshole went through an entire session of gasbaggery without one vaguely truthful word.

Santos has done basically the same thing, but he is being properly excoriated.

What is the difference between the two that one is being celebrated for his lies while the other is being ripped?

And had publicly created his persona.

Santos is unknown. It didn't take much to call out his lies because people didn't have a preconceived idea of him. He also doesn't seem to be very good a lying.

I guess one had created this facade of being a successful billionaire and was cloaked in a much higher level of celebrity because of it. So there's many passes issued by his disciples (like "grab 'em by the p****&quot . Sickening.

and uses what he learned there to good effect. It is like hypnosis. That singsong cadence and odd groupings of words are not accidents. He combines this with messages his listeners know are not true but which are the messages they want to hear and believe.

Outside of the speeches, he does and says the things his followers want to do and say. True Dough says above that his followers give him a pass on things like the "grab them" comment. I believe that comment is actually something they love about him. I believe that is why so many of them have decided they have permission to do things that used to be socially unacceptable, such as forming groups where they can discuss and laugh about how they abuse - and sometimes how they rape -women.

His methods have been monstrously effective in the past for him and for others, and it will be monstrously effective again in this election cycle. Hopefully enough who voted for him in the past will have awakened to the destruction and vileness of it, or at least they will have become bored of his bullshit.

That shit is lost on us, for whatever reason, but it sucks in so many otherwise decent people.

others?

Those others want to be sucked in. So I'm not sure how decent they were to begin with. I know that's judgmental, but I can live with that.

The one good thing he has done where I am concerned is that he showed me where the people were in my life who had no regard for me, as a woman, at all. And he showed me who around me are actually racist and sexist at their core. This is good information, painful as it has been.

He was asked why he liked Trump. His answer?” Because he tics them off!” Not even anyone, he just tics them off. Some mentality, huh?

Trump could not even remember who he endorsed in Ohio, jC, er, JD Mandel.

Any Buckeye worth their salt knows Josh Mandel was the goofy little guy that ran against Sherrod Brown and lost, twice.

That's why they're so afraid of women and people of color having opportunities. Because they know they are not up to the competition. If they truly thought we were all inferior to them, they'd have nothing to worry about.

About them saying how wonderful tfg is is one thing but hearing them actually say it is sickening. I heard one guy say he wished tfg was still president and he was the best president we’ve ever had made me want to scream and vomit at the same time. They are still walking among us and they will vote him back in if they get a chance. 😫🤮

No debating that.

I think a lot of people are somewhat blind to what they are buying into. It's like a cult, there just are people who buy in who just can't fully see it for what it is.

Its not all one or the other.

There are absolutely full on racists, bigots, sick and depraved fascists. Some kind of know, and go along.

Some just see what they want to see.

I get what you are saying, but I still know a lot of people who are kind and decent in how they live personally who get sucked into it.

She is the only one left who I voluntarily associate with, and I love her dearly. I will never understand her politics because they are so at odds with who she actually is.
