This is so scary

‘Oh, we just want to protect youth sports.’

‘Oh, just keep it away from the kids.’

‘Oh, it’s only about eradicating the ideology, not eradicating the people themselves.’

Do you think they’d stop at anything short of that? Don’t you think the crowd would love to cleanse transgender people altogether?

People are allowed to live their lives as they see fit. If people are transgender, they’re allowed to be a part of society just like anybody else.

And I’m seeing people defending this, calling it a mental disorder, which led me to block them. Even if being transgender *were* a mental disorder, since when has having a mental disorder precluded them from participating in society?

Transgender people aren’t a threat. Conservatives are. If people have a problem with transgender people, they have a problem.

2. Estimated % of US population transgender less than 2%, so repubs feel safe bullying them, to death.

But LGBTQ supporters are sick of the abuse. We must and will defend trans, and defeat the hate. Edit--repubs feel safe bullying women, so I guess percentages don't matter when it comes to hating "the other."

I guess we could ask to see the plan for how and when they plan to 'eradicate' millions of our fellow Americans?

Why doesn't a reporter ask Trump if he agrees with this speaker. ? It was a Trump supporter who said it. So tell us the plan Donald.

heterosexuality is an "ideology." They are both states of being and each is equally valid.

How does it protect youth sports to keep some youths from playing sports? Let them play!

Using children to advance a Nazi agenda is child abuse. Hitler’s friggin’ playbook.

their beliefs after having to accept that their own children’s gender was not what they thought. To their credit, the parents medically supported their kids. This guy is an abomination.

Many use to (and some still do) say the same thing about those who are homosexual.

As I recall, the Nazis rounded up gays early, maybe ahead of communists even. I'm not an expert on the sequence of killing, but I imagine that transgender people were among the first also. Not being a heterosexual could get you killed. So, yes, I fully anticipate that if conditions deteriorate, our contemporary fascists will proceed from banning thoughts to banning people to killing them outright.

the weakest of society. Their entire platform is anger and fear. Their base is easily convinced that anyone that's 'different' is bad. They're just different and sooner or later 'different' scares these people.

took their wins from Obergefell in 2015 and other gains and were inspired to "came out" for the GOP, just in time for tRump, MAGA, and all that's happened since. Not that they shouldn't have been able to without any of this conflagration landing on them, but I still blame them for thinking it was safe for them to join the GOP's growing hostility toward "others."

The main RW issues at that time were pretty much stopping Democrats/Hillary/liberalism, terrorism with Democrats to blame, immigration with same, saving the economy from destruction by Democrats, healthcare/repealing "Obamacare" because,...you know.

Culture war rage over LGBTQ issues was comparatively mild at that point, so they helped unleash far more against themselves than they could have expected, but not more than they should have feared.

They do this so we don't talk about their economic plans. And of course they are happy for violence to occur but this is meant to keep attention from other evil said at their coven.
