In the jargon, 'assets' come in 'witting' and 'unwitting' form. The former includes some form of pressure or contact --- blackmail, bribery, ideological devotion so extreme either the agency or the asset reaches out for recruitment. The latter class simply does, of its own accord, without either pressure or remuneration, things which accord perfectly with the agency's plans and programs. Why the person does this is immaterial to the agency, so long as what the person does suits the agency's purpose. No contact is required, and often it would harm the unwitting asset's utility if contact were made. 'Unwitting assets' are often referred to as 'useful idiots', and I submit it is this latter class of assistance Tucker offers the Kremlin....

He doesn't call Ukrainians nazis because it would upset the nazis here and would be defeating their narrative.
