Is a one-inch heel the secret to a DeSantis victory in 2024? (DeSantis wears high heels)

TFG will have fun with this. I remember that Little Marco also wore shoes with elevated heels and TFG had fun with this fact.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/03/09/presidential-candidates-height-desantis-trump/

There’s an inextricable vanity to politics. People who seek elected office are definitionally asking to be judged favorably by voters. In theory, those judgments derive from the candidates’ positions and value. In practice, though, they are also judged on other metrics, like appearance.

Like height.

This very old idea in politics has gotten a fresh coat of paint in recent weeks as new attention has been paid to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) everything-but-formally-announced 2024 presidential aspirations. Reports that former president Donald Trump, one of a handful of announced candidates, is mulling the possible nickname “Tiny D” for the governor — Trump’s never been known for his subtlety — overlaps with new scrutiny of DeSantis’s predilection for heeled shoes. Perhaps, the theory goes, DeSantis is boosting his height in order to boost his 2024 chances.....

It seems clear, then, that DeSantis is probably about 6 feet tall — not 5′9″, as some critics have charged, and several inches shorter than Trump (whose medical report had him at 6′3″, in line with ChatGPT). When the two appeared at a rally together in 2019, it was clear that DeSantis was slightly shorter — perhaps in part because of his heel.

In thought, word, deed and stature.

Someone needs to just play hardball against his fragile little ego and he will self implode. I'm hoping Joe Biden gives him the "You're the worst President we've ever had" type treatment at some point.

There's an old adage – best known probably as a David Brent quote – that the struggling salesman doesn't turn up to work on a bicycle. No, he turns up in a nicer car. When you're trying to strike a deal, it's all about perception.

22. Strategists predict Ron DeSantis will be ridiculed in Iowa for 'his little platform heels'
Sat Mar 11, 2023, 11:32 PM
Mar 2023

This will be fun to watch

https://www.rawstory.com/ron-desantis-trump-iowa/

On tonight's episode of MSNBC's All In with Chris Hayes, Democratic strategist Fernandi Amandi noted that as Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) decides to run for president, he's facing off against his own kind of Oedipus complex......

"Who knows where the bodies are buried for him," she continued. "So, there are people who are disgruntled former DeSantis employees, who are now working for Trump. So, they know how to needle him and where his weaknesses are, and it's starting already. We saw Trump go after him because he knows that DeSantis is in Iowa today. And Trump will be there on Monday, so DeSantis got ahead of him there. He went after him on farmers. When Trump was talking directly to the farmers about how he helped them and how he was on their side and DeSanctimonious DeSantis was not. And telling him to go home. So, he's talking directly to the base."

She went on to say that DeSantis is not going to go over well in Iowa when he can't control the questions or the audience or even the reporters.

"I mean, can you imagine Ron DeSantis in Iowa, where the retail politics really matters?" she asked. "And so you've seen some of the reports out of there. You cannot be arrogant and awkward. Can you imagine him on the stump at the Iowa State Fair giving his presentations, talking about his policy-won stuff, and his little platform heels, trying to come across as someone who can relate to the folks in Iowa? I'm waiting to see that, because he's not very good at this. And we are starting to see the cracks in that. And Donald Trump will exploit that all day long."

It hits DeSantis on several levels. Remember how Trump was infuriated with the 'tiny hands' jokes and what that implied?

Tiny D can refer to DeSantis' weak standing in the polls, his height, his lack of charisma, as well as any and all 'tiny' body parts.

LOL!!

but those cowboy boots are a pretty common style and have been worn for decades, including with suits, and have always tended to have a higher heel (for stirrups).

Dump's lifts OTOH - his legs are so weak he can't even correct his stance when he's wearing them - that's why he's always leaning forward swinging his arms.
