I have been listening to many of the experts on the news giving their opinions on what charges Bragg will bring forward. However, no one knows what is going on inside the grand jury room.
I have heard none of the experts talking about tax fraud. They are mostly focused on falsifying business records.
Bragg has put his reputation, his career, on the line by reopening this case. He had already hurt his reputation by the way he shut down the investigation in the first place. He must have something on Trump that makes him confident he can win. If he charges Trump with simple misdemeanors that would look really weak. If he doesn't indict his career would be ruined.
Perhaps Bragg found new evidence that no one knows about yet. That is a possibility. Perhaps Bragg is going to charge Trump with other crimes we don't know about yet. Just my opinion.

(32,314 posts)plenty of experts are asking why the IRS hasn't gone after Trump. Your guess is as good as mine why the IRS gives him a pass.

(4,913 posts)I am talking about the Daniels payments among other things. Tax fraud. Michael Cohen also has talked about Trump committing insurance fraud. The experts on TV may be right. Trump is going to be charged with falsifying business records and nothing else.
I am simply suggesting Bragg may have other charges no one knows about yet.
This has become my favorite quote because it is true.
"There is a GAP in what is happening in all the investigations and what the public knows"

(32,314 posts)it would be a walk in the park for the IRS to nail Trump, I am talking about the IRS. Michael Cohen would like to know why the IRS hasn't nailed Trump?

(37,367 posts)who had Trump dead to rights for financial crimes and let it go. Tax laws are Federal or State anyway. So no.

(13,283 posts)Trump said that the reimbursement for hush money Cohen paid was a retainer fee from a client to a lawyer, a common and totally legal arrangement. Even if Bragg has some additional information, tax fraud would be a difficult charge to prove beyond reasonable doubt, and Bragg wouldn't risk bringing charges that are not airtight and foolproof.
Gab has something going for his argument, but not in the way he thinks he does. If IRS doesn't think it can bring charges against trump, it's a sure sign that Bragg wouldn't either.
