This is what an angry-sounding middle-aged man said to my 12-yr old daughter while we were standing in front of a Walmart this morning doing a cookie booth in windy, 30 degree, snowy weather. She politely smiled and told him to have a nice day, he walked off, and then asked me what his problem was. I had no clue
Some people are so hateful at the world that they feel the need to raise their voice even at Girl Scouts, I guess.
Joke's on him though, we sold almost 100 boxes in 2 hours.
On edit: this is what I was able to dig up by Googling about Girl Scouts and politics. It's what I kind of thought, but wasn't sure of, since our area is pretty rural and pro-life.

Some version of that claim has been going around for years. It dates to at least 2004 the same year that Facebook began when John Pisciotta, an anti-abortion activist in Waco, Texas, bought ads on a local Christian radio station calling for a boycott of Girl Scout cookies.
On NBCs Today show, host Lester Holt interviewed Pisciotta and Kathy Cloninger, who had become the CEO of the national Girl Scouts six months earlier, about a local boycott that made national headlines.

I never hear about the sale until its over! No ads, no marketing, no nothing. You just have to be at some store where a GS is selling them. And selling so many - they run out!
Cmon Girl Scouts. Get with the program!

(76,706 posts)I just give them a couple bucks & get no cookies.
I do the same for all these kids' fundraisers. I even went to a cheerleaders' car wash, but didn't want to put the top up until it dried, so I gave them a few bucks & went home.
Except of youth football. I don't approve of 11 year old kids playing tackle football. I'm not helping their parents out. Let them pay for it.

(26,257 posts)angry-sounding middle-aged man was wrong, and I would have told him to his face too, that is, if he had an issue, pick on someone his 'size' (by this I mean Age here).
Tell your daughter to keep up the good work, she is doing good work raising money, learning the skills of how a business works, and plus, learning how to deal w/ people. If you ask me, she is pretty smart already!

The girls scouts promote the right of girls and young women to improve their lives.
He was nothing more than a middle aged incel who fucked up in life and blames all his problems on Dems and women.

(6,299 posts)Its the same with people who announce that theyre leaving a forum. No one cares.
If you disagree with the politics of the Girl Scouts, no one cares - especially a 10 year old girl who has no idea what youre talking about. Just dont buy the cookies. People are nuts.
