UPDATE: Jennifer Weisselberg, Manhattan Trump case: "Something has changed and it's been upleveled"

Last edited Mon Mar 13, 2023, 08:09 PM - Edit history (3)

Update:

https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-grand-jury-moves-into-final-phase-as-key-witnesses-testify

However, in the hours after making her claims, two sources with direct knowledge of the investigation told The Daily Beast that Weisselberg had merely used the intense media focus on the case to bring attention to herself. Her attorney, Duncan Levin, who has guided her previous interviews with investigators about the Trump Organization's tax fraud, did not accompany her on Monday.

Weisselberg was actually at the DA’s office to testify before a separate grand jury totally unrelated to Trump concerning a personal matter, according to a person familiar with her situation. The media stunt casts doubt on her reliability as a witness and could prevent investigators from using her to testify in the future about alleged tax dodging at the Trump Organization, according to this person.

I wish I knew who the "person familiar" was.

EARLIER STORY:

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/trump-grand-jury-moves-final-162812290.html

Jurors are hearing from Jennifer Weisselberg, a one-time Trump family confidant embroiled in a bitter divorce who explained how the real estate mogul ordered his top finance executive to dodge taxes and cook the books.

Asked about the investigation outside the DA’s office at 12:30 p.m., Weisselberg told The Daily Beast that “something has changed and it's up-leveled.”

“It’s bigger than any taxes, paper, insurance, banks, insurance… it's bigger than money,” she said.

They are also hearing from Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney, who detailed how his boss used him to cover-up a hush payment to a porn star—breaking election laws to protect his 2016 presidential campaign.

AND FROM APRIL 2021, MORE ABOUT JENNIFER W.

Among other things, Jennifer's ex managed a few all-cash businesses for Trump, including the Wolman Skating Rink.

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/04/donald-trump-jennifer-weisselberg-criminal-probe

According to…Jennifer, Barry’s real job was to be Trump’s eyes on the cash, and as such, she says, once a week he would collect the money, not just from the rink but from all three Trump-run park properties, and walk it to his father’s office in Trump Tower. “What does Allen do with it?” Jennifer asks. “I don’t think all the cash was reported. It was for Trump. That’s why he wanted [Barry] there so bad.”

Cohen most likely told Bragg about every crime Trump committed. It also seemed odd to me that Bragg brought in Hope Hicks if this was only about paying off Stormy Daniels.

Thanks for posting this.

“Upleveled” is an interesting way to put it.

Al Capone. They couldn't get a case against him for any of his more horrific crimes, so they got him on Tax Evasion.

He was sent to prison for life, but got out a few months prior to his death because his case of tertiary syphillis had eaten away his brain....

Putting Trump in a cell for life would make me happy, especially one in Colorado's Super Max where all contact with the outside world is cutoff.

Then we can focus on his spawn, particularly Ivanka and Jared. You have to know that for every dollar Trump grifted, those two grifted two dollars for themselves....or tons more.......

Of course, those two would merely hop on a private jet, (No passport required), with all the Top Secret Intelligence files remaining in their possession, and head for Saudi Arabia..........

I would venture a guess, that the TWO BILLION the Saudi's "loaned" Jared, was just a way of "money laundering" the Billions the two had grifted and deposited in an off shore account in Saudi Arabia........

Cohen's testifying and he would logically be one of the final people to testify because he was a principal figure in the case. Just heard on MSNBC that Cohen testified today, but would be coming back again as a "fact witness." Can anyone clear this up?

By William K. Rashbaum, Ben Protess and Jonah E. Bromwich
March 23, 2022
One of the senior Manhattan prosecutors who investigated Donald J. Trump believed that the former president was “guilty of numerous felony violations” and that it was “a grave failure of justice” not to hold him accountable, according to a copy of his resignation letter.

The prosecutor, Mark F. Pomerantz, submitted his resignation last month after the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, abruptly stopped pursuing an indictment of Mr. Trump.

Mr. Pomerantz, 70, a prominent former federal prosecutor and white-collar defense lawyer who came out of retirement to work on the Trump investigation, resigned on the same day as Carey R. Dunne, another senior prosecutor leading the inquiry.

Pomerantz and Dunne were prepared to indict Trump for numerous felonies, if Bragg only prosecutes a misdemeanor, it will strengthen Trump.

1. That they found the payment(s) to someone on the set of Rust to bring real bullets to the scene.

2. That they found money going to hitmen sent to intimidate Justice Anthony Kennedy, or someone in his family.

3. That they found money coming in from known Russian agents. But this one does not seem wild at all, since I think we have plenty of proof already, but maybe this is smoking gun proof?

Those are my wildest. Anyone else have any guesses?
