Also concerned for the wolves' digestive systems if they should undertake to eat that creature.

hunters and ranchers. boebert represents both.

wolves limit the elk population, and hunters want elk.

wolves who don't have other prey to eat will prey on sheep or cattle, and ranchers can't abide that. even though they're typically compensated for the loss.

wolves are not a threat to humans.

grizzlies and moose are.

They typically prey upon the old, sick and injured while human hunters go after bulks and cows in their prime. Another positive wolves bring is that they disperse deer and elk herds which helps control the spread of diesese.

"Never Cry Wolf" by Farley Mowat I discovered that wolves (Alaska) subsisted mainly on field mice. I watched my pup Underfoot amuse herself by capturing and eating field mice with the classic Leap and fore paw trap, I had to embrace the truth of that. She was a "Dig Dog", one of the lucky few canines who camped at archaeological excavations with their human partners, sometimes for months. Kind of dog heaven.

Was for me too.

Edit to add: FUCK BOEBERT!

Another edit to add: Even in those when wolves prey on elk, they prefer the easiest kill, the sick and the lame. They help cull the herd and make it stronger overall. Human hunters want the trophy buck as a prize, removing those good genes from the pool. Shit. that must be how bang bang barbies are created. Shallow end of the gene pool. A devolution.

Wolves are NOT dangerous. They’re extremely timid around humans. They don’t see us as prey and actually see us as predators (with good reason). Wolves have killed 2 people in the last 25 years, and those were freak occurrences. Usually it’s 0.

should look at the before and after picture taken in Yellowstone. First set is while they were extinct, second set of pictures where several years after their reintroduction. amazing difference

I’ll see if I can scare them up.
