What I suspect will happen in the Mifepristone case...

1. Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk will issue his ruling ordering the FDA to withdraw approval of mifepristone.

2. The FDA will respond that since their agency has sole authority to approve, or withdraw the approval thereof, of drugs from the US marketplace King Matthew can go fuck himself.

3. King Matthew will flip down his visor, scream into his bullhorn "I am The Law!" and order the FDA to withdraw the approval of mifepristone in an even firmer tone of voice. He will then add the words "or else!"

4. Sylvester Stallone and Karl Urban, who played Judge Dredd in two different movies, will go on Rachel Maddow's show to point out that King Matthew would never make it as a Judge in Mega City 1.

5. President Biden will issue an executive order negating King Matthew's ruling. Trump will immediately go on Twitter, Truth Social, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit, 4Chan and MySpace to demand President Biden be impeached and removed from office for issuing this order. President Biden will leave this message on Trump's answering machine: "Will you just shut up, man?"

6. The Second Judicial Circuit, where the manufacturer of mifepristone is, points out that the rulings of a low-level judge in the 5th Circuit are not binding upon it and refuses to take action against the manufacturer.

7. The 1st and 9th Circuits similarly note that King Matthew's order is not binding in their territories.

8. The Cushing's Support and Research Foundation files suit in Boston against King Matthew, declaring that mifepristone is a critical medication in the management of Cushing's Disease (it is), and asking for Kacsmaryk's ruling to be overturned. CSRF wins a default judgment since Kacsmaryk stayed in Texas ruling that the famous textbook "Gray's Anatomy" is porn not allowed to be shelved in high school libraries because it contains paintings of human genitalia instead of attending his trial.

9. The Supreme Court decides it has better things to do than to deal with this shit and refuses to hear the case. The decision of the MA court stands, as does the approval of this drug.

10. The creators of the celebrated animated short film "My Year of Dicks" will release a live-action sequel. It will be nothing but a beautiful young lady reading King Matthew's anti-abortion decisions, shot in one take.

An abortion can be done with misoprostol alone. Since the pro-forced-birth group that's trying to get King Matthew to ban abortion drugs is only going after mifepristone this time - I can only assume that if his ruling isn't overturned upstream of him they'll also target misoprostol, but as of now they are not - the abortion clinics are preparing for a world where only single-drug abortions can be performed.
