but make it look like it wasn't actually an act of aggression.
Hence the fuel dumps trying to choke the engine and causing it to flame out, and the 'OOPS, damaged the propellor moment' instead of a missile from a distance.
Plausible deniability and all that.
Pity there is video.

A backwards firing flare at the right time during a fuel dump would do it nicely.
