Mom is sick and has been in the hospital.

Earlier in the month I talked about my mom being in the hospital with RSV and Pneumonia. Well, I have been by my mother's side while she has been in the hospital (her local) getting worse. It was discovered she had a Staph infection which was effecting her heart and she was developing a Kidney issue.

While in the hospital they had been trying to do physical Therapy with her daily and would increasingly be more and more painful. she couldn't even get a bed bath without being so painful. I have been doing my best to be her advocate and keep the various diagnosis straight. Thursday Ortho came did x-rays on her hip and pulled fluid from her hip. Yesterday the ortho doctors came up said staph infection was in her hip and her hip replacement (which she got in 99) was failing her. She was frustrated with various Diagnosis. she sick and miserable wants to go to Allegheny. I demand she goes there.

We also have a cousin ( and her Godson) who is head of one of the departments in Allegheny General. He also thru her local Doctor has been keeping an eye on her.

Hospital is all nasty and is like well, it isn't going to be instant, and it could be 2 or 4 days before they have a bed to transfer her and Administration coming in CYA the hospital that are just chasing symptoms and not viewing and treating the whole and getting ahead of it.. I call the cousin with my mom on speaker phone. We tell him everything she has gone thru and asked his help. long story short she was being loaded into an ambulance at 10:30 pm to be taken to Pittsburgh. My sister came in from the state she lives in to give me a break. she followed the Ambulance down and has been with her since. I feel guilty being home while she's there, but everyone is saying take a break.

Today they did x-rays and the Doctor came in saying they didn't find infection in her hip. They see part of the hip is failing and preventing her from moving and walking. The primary concern is the staff infection which is not only in the heart but also effecting her kidneys.

May I please ask you to send some healing vibes my mother's way. I will be at her side at Alleghany but will need to call my work place since I originally thought she would be discharge from the hospital on the 10th.
