Kids sit and watch Keith’s Special Commentaries, and they are school kids. Now as adults ranging from 24yo to 31yo, they all are Dems. My 26 yo son I have to monitor because his friend group, who are white, upper-middle class, and college-educated tend to be all committed Magats. My older son, 30yo, is an orthopedic surgeon resident, and I fear Republicans’ love of medical malpractice reform and tax cuts may someday get him to switch. As a trial attorney who has handled plaintiff’s malpractice cases, I try and educate him on the reality that medical malpractice cases are some of the hardest to win, especially in our State of NJ. For every one verdict that the plaintiff wins, ten get “no caused” at trial. My message is, as a doctor, don’t hate the lawyers; hate the insurance companies who earn billions off medical malpractice insurance and legal malpractice as well.
