This may be a stupid question but would it be possible for all the teachers unions to strike after the next mass shooting? Could that turn the tide is it even possible

Fifty million industrial-strength killing machines out there. Only way to stop the bloodshed is to ban them and enact the death penalty for having one. Not even sure that would do it.
