He'll tell McCarthy to refuse to do it, with excuse after excuse , and he'll force him into doing it, then when it backfires on them he'll deny being a part of it. He likes hurting people. It makes him feel powerful. For being held accountable he'll exact his revenge on all Americans, one way or another. Its coming.

I believe Biden has already gamed this scenario and has a plan in place.
In any case, cash is your friend in the coming months. IMO the market will go through some extreme gyrations.

(15,210 posts)...I don't think too many in the top 0.01% would want to risk the global meltdown a US debt default would cause. So, yes, I assume the pressure to raise the debt ceiling will be strong.

The money people may put a ton of pressure on McCarthy and the Republicans, but that may not have much -- or any -- influence on them and their determination to wreck the economy and blame Biden.
