the young lady? Well, this saying does the same thing. People will interpret it based on their own philosophies. Some will look at it an say, that those who trust easily don't have to get weighed down with second guessing. But others would say that those who trust will end up traveling light, because they will be robbed blind.

I am in the latter group.

4. Those who fail to achieve rational, reason-based balance rob themselves

AND fail their greater duty to others. "Balances" because every issue has to be evaluated for itself and in its context, including temporally. None are either-or.

If that's too much to adhere to all the time, as it is for virtually everyone, elect good people with PROVEN RECORDS of competence and commitment to serving the people.
