(100,973 posts)He has some phobia about toasters, I guess. They do hurt more than shoes when people throw them at you.

(10,172 posts)"Balloon phobia or globophobia is a fear of balloons. The source of fear may be the sound of balloons popping. Generally, people with globophobia will refuse to touch, feel, or go near a balloon for fear it will burst. This is a form of phonophobia." - Wikipedia

(76,132 posts)They had to ban those & chairs. You know how far a person with bad intentions could launch themselves while on that chair, using a toaster?
Really huge threat!

(58,785 posts)2naSalit may be right -- tRump's afraid of flying toasters. And other appliances.

(9,353 posts)Makes sense to me. But why then was it ok on 1/6? Oh, thats right, because on 1/6 you wanted the attack to be successful and you were not the one under attack
BYW, when they say appliances (toasters) it gives them the ability to ban appliances like pressure cookers which were used in the Boston Marathon Bombing. When they say no balls or balloons, it is done to keep aerosolized chemical agents from moving through a crowd and then popped. As we all learned on 1/6. Many things can be weaponized but some are more problematic than others.
