Andrew Cuomo slams NY, Georgia investigations into Trump as feeding 'cancer in our body politic'

IMO Cuomo is part of the NY Mafia family. He is part of NewsNation now which I have never watched and never will. I believe O'Reilly is also on. So it calls into question of the type of news they have.

Andrew Cuomo slams NY, Georgia investigations into Trump as feeding ‘cancer in our body politic’

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) slammed the New York and Georgia investigations into former President Trump as being part of a “cancer in our body politic,” arguing they are politically motivated.

Cuomo told John Catsimatidis, who hosts the talk radio show “The Cats Roundtable,” in an interview on WABC 770 that he expects Trump will be indicted in Manhattan next week. He said he “doesn’t understand” why Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) is “putting such an emphasis” on the case investigating a hush-money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

I have detailed so many times his years of sabotage to the state, the assembly, the courts, and its voting system, especially redistricting..... all due his obsessive hatred of the progressives.

His bullshit 'non partisan' redistricting schemes he rammed through

His support of renegade Dems that stole control of the NY Senate from us and gave it to the Rethugs

His stacking the state courts with conservatives

Etc etc

His machinations cost us a net loss in 2022 of 12 to 16 seats just in NY. Just winning 6 of the seats would have kept us in control of the House.

Cuomo was an overall pox on our party for ages.

I mean, Hochul isn't exactly inspiring confidence for the future...

But I don't know much about the particularities of the state's politics.

Specifically, start by flushing that non partisan redistricting scheme (likely will take another constitutional amendment to repeal the one Cuomo rammed through in 2014) and replacing those conservative judges in whatever fashion is possible.

I politically co-existed with Cuomo in NY. At times he used his accumulated power in positive ways, such as for gun safety. Sometimes he wavered but came down on the correct side, such as with anti-fracking laws But there was an authoritarian streak in him, and he would make deals with virtually anyone to further his ambitions. I voted for him, sure, and I appreciated his public stance regarding Covid, but I never trusted him, and I knew that overall our State Democratic party was in worse shape than it needed to be because of him.

As for his criticism of the investigations, it sounds like sour grapes given he had to resign because of the sexual harassment accusations.
