I have written another LTTE about the angry MAGAT who

pounded on my front door and shouted. I did not name him by name, but people will be able to figure it out.

I have submitted the LTTE to several area newspapers. I have made a FOIA request for the incident report from the deputy who responded, and all 911 records. I will be getting a ring doorbell device.

I am 74. I am armed. Don't get worried, everyone. All the farmers up and down my road are armed. It is the normal thing around here.

It is clear to me that this has you seriously concerned. First do what you can to take care of your own safety period. There are low toned (aka large breed) barking dog recordings that you can look into and some that have line of sight triggers. Dogs are a big deterrent for unwanted pests.

Second, Get an 'intake' appointment with a Councilor/lawyer that agrees with your general politics. This should be a bit less expensive and still get you some useful advise. You are into this now and advise is your friend

On edit, Remember, you don't have to open your door just because someone knocks on it.

Don't forget karma is on your side and that....is a real good thing.

My neighbors and I went this route with a scary homeless person camped on our door steps and it (eventually) worked.

Or at least include links to the other threads regarding this issue.

I’m sure I’m not alone in not knowing the context here.

8. Ever hear of "tanglefoot"?

"Tanglefoot" is individual strands of barbed wire, laid low to the ground, staked down at the ends, crisscrossing itself, 6 - 8 inches off the ground. It's especially devilish if someone approaches your place at night only to suddenly find themselves with their feet entangled in tanglefoot.

Just saying.

Doorbell can is a great idea. Restraining order is largely useless. Having a gun in your hand will get you killed if some MAGAt SWATs you and you don't hear the cops ID themselves, or they don't ID themselves.

I don't know where the OP lives, but pyracantha grows well here in the desert, as well as other places I've lived. It's a pain in the ass to try to keep in check, the inch long thorns can pierce thin leather easily, but it's the best anti thug device I've ever seen--and it's legal.
It also feeds the birds as they take off for their migration south. You can't set a bear trap in your yard, but you can plant this stuff.

It's a thought, albeit a mean one. The door cam will give you video, the video can be copied and given to the cops who are likely MAGAts, too, and might or might not be disposed to have a word with him on not bullying elders.

I don’t even know if they work. They are in the window next to the doors. I printed a sign that says Smile. Video Surveillance. Haven’t had any unwanted visitors in years. Spent about two dollars

a sign by their door that was a sketch of a hand holding a gun pointed toward anyone coming to the door. Printed above the sketch of the hand and gun were the words, "I don't call 911." (I have seen the same illustration at other places with the words, "Protection provided by Smith and Wesson.)

They were both big gun advocates, and regularly went to gun shows for antique guns that shot what they called black powder. He also had a hobby of making his own bullets.

Nice people, but were NRA types all the way....

Edited to include: BTW, they both knew Randy Weaver (of Ruby Ridge fame) and went to high school with him.
