Dean Davis, Oklahoma State House Republican, arrested for public intoxication!

That ain’t half the story!

He tells the police they can’t touch and used his position authority to try to stop the police from arresting him, say “you can detain me”!

What? He thinks like Trump and is above the law?

Story from Yahoo News.

One well known incident involved Senator Byrd, who rear ended another car and was initially ticketed, but the cops then decided the ticket should be voided because Byrd was covered by the speech and debate clause. After the story came out, Byrd decided to "waive" the immunity to the extent it was applicable and appeared in traffic court.

In Davis's case, his arrest for public drunkenness ought to be considered "breach of the peace" and thus not covered by the immunity.
