Those on our side have made good arguments about how the GOP lost because they are dinosaurs with racist, homophobic, anti-woman policies.
Yet, the truth is that if Mitt could have convinced more people that he could really fix the economy, more Latinos, women, and youth would have voted for him. In his latter day speeches, Mitt was talking over-the-top garbage about how small business had no representation for the past 4 years in the Obama White House. Instead he should have given us better arguments about how WE would be better off if he won. Mitt didn't understand us because our problems are exactly the problems the GOP wants us to have. Isn't it ironic that it was Mitt who didn't understand America?
America wasn't about to change horses in mid stream on the unconvincing words of Mitt. Thankfully.

(6,539 posts)Luckily, hanging over that cap was an idea that was repulsive to him: government money played a big role in turning around the Olympics.
It's funny, the phrase: "You can't get there from here," comes to mind. It may have been impossible for him to convince us that he could fix the economy without government help.
