with the electricity. Last night got worse. Very heavy winds. Garbage cans, boxes, etc. in the street. No one hurt. BUT my maga neighbor's tRump flag flew off of his porch and landed in our front yard. Question--should I give it back or throw it away? He has had this tRump flag up for 2 years. I waited for this to happen, and now it has.
It was a TRUMP flag--Don't blame me ,I voted for Trump

(4,717 posts)If goddess wanted it up she would have spared the flag. On the other hand when they go low we go high. Im gonna let you choose but as horrible as this sounds if this landed in our yard someone would probably wipe their rear end with it before returning it. I just asked my friend what he would do and he said he would buy a Trump Lost flag and have it delivered. 😂😂

(60,188 posts)doormat to certain people. I didn't put it on the porch, where my baby gift still sits. He can get his skinny ass down to pick it up. Sorry, but this is a person who laughed at my dog Dolly and said his German Shepherd could "chew the shit out of my dog"

(12,209 posts)And I hear ya about being a doormat. I have to dig deep to pull out my patience at times.
I'm sorry that you have to live next to that jerk.

(4,717 posts)Consideration means nothing to them. My MAGA sister would take the flag in hand and then immediately say something to make you very sorry that you tried to be considerate. Drop the flag at the police department and let them deal with it. Do not engage.

(60,188 posts)us to stop looking at his house. Last month, when his wife had their little girl, I bought the baby a gift and took it over. He told me they didn't want my trash. I left it on the patio furniture, and came back crying. I am leaning towards having him coming over and get it.

some post-storm trash in your yard. Terrible about those windstorms they deposit all kinds of garbage all over the place.
What an absolute jerk that man is.
I was gonna say give it back and then I read your post about the baby gift and what he said to you. So now if it was me I would step on it and walk all over it. Smear mud or whatever 💩 comes to mind then wait till dark and throw it back in his yard. He sounds like an a**hole. Sorry you have him for a neighbor.

(58,785 posts)even just dropping it in the entry to the driveway, I might rescue his flag for him. It'd be a big temptation, can't say for sure, but we've always found ways to be a decent neighbor to some very trying people and haven't regretted it, even when never repaid.
But if not -- oh, hell no to giving it back.

I am not that good--half is in his yard, the other half is in the street.

(11,416 posts)Can you *prove* (and not just think) it was his - it may have come from someone else upwind. And it was probably shredded anyway. Given what you've said of his behavior, I'd just put it in the garbage - after all, if it were really valuable to him he'd have taken measures to secure it, or bring it inside.
Now, if anyone has seen the plant starts that blew off my porch during the latest wind storm here....well, keep them if you want: plenty more where they came from.

(2,566 posts)It could have come from anywhere. Also, the baby gift. He sounds unhinged. You don't want him on your property. Sooner or later, something bad is going to happen with that bunch.

(15,909 posts)We just moved here seven months ago, and my wife and I are just settling into our new house in the past couple of weeks.
We were hit by strong winds yesterday too. No big Trump flags in the immediate neighborhood, but they can definitely be found around here. Not far from our previous temporary apartment someone had a big (I'd guess 6'x4') Trump 2020 sign planted in his yard in what looked to be a long term or permanent fashion. This was in front of the nice big house of someone who probably supported Trump for tax breaks, if nothing else.
I'd love it if the wind had better ideas about the permanence of that atrocity.
