Republicans are saying Trump cannot be indicted because he is running for President...

The truth of the matter is that he is running for president to keep from being indicted.

Rep. Comer (R-KY) was on MTP this morning and said it was all "political" and that since Trump was running for President, it should be a Federal investigation.

It sounds like a chicken or egg argument?

But Trump announced his intent to run before all the votes had been counted in the last election. He is using his candidacy as a defense against indictment. It is fairly obvious.

Rather than saying Trump cannot be indicted because he is running for the Presidency, it would be more appropriate to say that Trump cannot run for the presidency simply to escape indictment, which is more accurate.

If a person running for president couldn't be indicted for a crime, every criminal with the possibility of prosecution hanging over his head would just announce his candidacy and file the paperwork; then, when the cops come for him - "Neener, neener, you can't indict me because I'm running for president!"

They lie… They lie all the time… They lie about everything… He can be indicted and he can be tried and he can be convicted and he can be imprisoned. His running means jack and shit.

That is truth.
