It's interesting to me that we still know so little about the nature of the Stolen Docs

I mean, I don't expect to know 'details', and I think it's good that so little has come out publicly about the nature of the docs as the case is being built. We know there was some bit about 'nuclear' stuff in another country, but that's about it.

I do find it interesting though we don't at least have some clue as to the overall nature of what these docs are, by this point. Seems like someone would've leaked at least a little

IOW, does the particular selection of docs appear to suggest any motive? Was it mostly secrets he could possibly sell? Was it stuff he could use to blackmail others, especially senior GOP?

Or was it just egomaniac shit where he wanted to the records of everything remotely momentous that he did, so he could show off later when writing a book or some such?

The MOTIVE here, if one can be established at least loosely by the CHOICES of documents taken ... is a really, really big question and I expect will hugely impact the consequences for IQ45, should there be any.

We was showing these things around like “Ha ha no one tells ME what I can do”. Now he’s in a standoff and he is just certain he’ll win. He has this tiny little group of people who pay to be near him even giving him a standing ovation at dinner. He has this little world that he reigns over so anything he says is basically the law.

he *actually* took, because as long as it isn't explicitly described--which he probably knew it never would be--he can threaten anybody anytime that he has *something* on them. How'd they know whether he was bluffing?

I don't think he actually planned it this way. Or did he? He could have legit just taken marked empty folders (which I don't think was the case) to use to taunt people into thinking he had dirt on them. Like a prop.

It'd be funny if that was more in line with his motive, but he ends up facing espionage charges or something.

4. I heard one characterization of the documents,

that they were crown jewels of our intelligence agencies, that they revealed sources and methods, and that even their descriptions could not be shared except in a general sense. I can't remember the reporter who said it, and it was just a passing comment.

I think it's likely he was trying to monetize these somehow, since he doesn't read.

when the accused is an disgraced ex-POTUS who effectively leads a cult full of millions of USA-hating sociopaths and domestic terrorists, and to whom most of the congresscritters of his party (who now hold The House) appear to be strangely beholden to.

But I get your point ... my inclination is to think what he stole is probably not overly incriminating.

But seriously, some documents are so secret that even their description is classified. (So I have read)

I have no doubt that the speed at which they were suddenly seized says how dangerous they were in the wrong tiny hands.

And that something leaked here or abroad that rang alarm bells.

Opinion again: The Dumpster probably coveted them for their monetary/trading value, and certain family interests, i.e. "Friends of Kushner" and who knows what others. "It's all about me" is his motto.

Other interests, such as Korea, Putin, et. al. might come out in the questioning of his associates, who knew strategic value beyond the usual "Family grift". And this is so obviously a crime that any "privilege" immediately goes out the window.

Leaks at this level (post-2020) are verboten again. There's a new sheriff in town.

which, if shared/sold to adversarial nations would endanger the lives of those operatives, not to mention their families, and the many years of difficult intel work exposed in inserting those operatives into foreign hierarchies.

There's also the matter of how trump was able to secret so many classified docs out of Wash. DC.
