She'd like to read a book (or was it write one). Not have to worry about hair and make-up. I think she's tired. She's 65, she's earned some time off. Though some will argue that she's gearing up for 2016 but she's said twice now that she isn't running for President again.

Hillary45
and I wasn't a fan in 2008
I am now.
She earned her loyalty

btw, she is the same age as the legendary female leader Golda Meir was when she charted a new course through history.

one should be ashamed of themselves for mentioning age in 2012.

sheesh, do we want a young pup like Paul Ryan?I would hope not.

She recently told Marie Claire that she does not plan to run for president in 2016, and that she’s looking forward to being off the “high wire of national and international politics and leadership” and having her own time back.

She has said she plans to write another book and continue fighting for women’s rights. Her husband told CBS’s Face the Nation that he has “no earthly idea” what she’ll do, but that she is tired and needs a break.

So, as the first former first lady to serve in a president’s cabinet prepares to step down, let’s take a look back at some of the many reasons we heart Hillary.

Saying that she can't do something because she's 65 is sexist, stating her age is not.

and I will bet you Mitt's 10grand that you are wrong

"she does not have plans"

means

she will be 45.

there is NO other choice, unless you want a republican to win.

Obama himself said he wasn't running in 2008 til he did

as did JFK RFK Teddy, Jimmy Carter and every other person but LBJ who remained true to his heart and word in 1968, even though he would have kicked Nixon's ass.

if she does decide to run, I'll support her. If she wins the primaries, I'll support her, if she's nominated, I'll support her but to think that we can't win in 2016 without Hillary is nearsighted and defeatist.

I'm 58, lift weights an hour or more a day and walk 4 to 5 miles a day. All I take are vitamins. My wife is 57, has RA, and though not debilitated is certainly not "in her prime." Her condition is no fault of hers, and my condition (given all the abuse I heaped on my body in my youth) is certainly not attributable to "clean living" or any lifelong desire to live to a healthy old age.

I hope Hillary is fit and able to campaign in '16. But if not, that won't be anything to fault her for.

you gotta be naive to think anyone would announce

AND HILLARY IS BY LAW NOT ALLOWED TO WHILE SOS
It is NOT a political job

I would think people here were smarter

Do you think Bill worked his ass off without knowing Hillary was running and that Obama was supporting her?

btw-just a fact- Elizabeth Warren IS THE SAME AGE AS HILLARY.

years are worlds apart. Hillary has been a great Secretary of State, she has worked her butt off, logged millions of miles traveling to deal with some of the most difficulty situations in the WORLD. Before that she was a hard driving Senator, and before that First Lady with daily attacks to herself and her family and before that First Lady of Arkansas and before that.... she has always worked for the good of our country and its citizens.

Give the lady her due, if she says she wants to rest and enjoy life, so be it. That's not to say a couple of years of chilling out and she won't be ready for another fight but I take her at her word. She has earned our respect, well wishes and our undying thanks for the jobs she has done.

And I would be proud to call her President Clinton if she changes her mind.

And not too many stay more than 4 years in that position.

The whole cabinet and staff will evolve over the next few months and look nothing like the current cabinet.

most people only stay one term in the cabinet positions

and she has done a major good spot-on job

I salute her and will vote for her in 2016

only reason she lost in 2008 was that us Obama voters voted for him.
With her loyalty to him the last 4 years, she earned my and our vote and shall destroy Jeb Bush in the general election 2016

If you respect her, respect what she has said. And maybe you should wait another few years before dedicating your vote.

Right now, I'm pretty glad that the guy who earned my vote on Tuesday is POTUS -still.

Its a grueling job with high stress, long hours and neverending jet lag. Given that any particular President is doing his/her job as they should be, the SOS is arguably the second hardest job in government.

Whatever it is, she's let it be known for some time now she will stop being SOS sometime after '12 elections.

I say let her do as she pleases with nothing but a THANK YOU! from all of us.

She had a relatively great run as SOS, well, until the Benghazi attack, which may or may not mar what still was a stellar performance in that position. If she gets out now, she has an almost perfect performance as SOS under her belt, she stays out of politics for four years and, in so doing, avoids any possible political controversy or criticism, she then coasts to a presidential nomination in 2016. Very good strategy.
