(5,455 posts)except Garland. Dump should have been indicted by the DOJ LONG ago

(13,283 posts)Except Garland has to deal with a couple of thousand additional cases.
But an insurrection and stealing classified documents seem to have priority to me
Beastly Boy
(13,283 posts)They ALL matter. Insurrection and theft of classified docs were clear LONG ago. Long before a special counsel was chosen. In my view Bragg has the courage to do the right thing

(13,283 posts)soon after Michael Cohen plead guilty to making the payments and pointed at Trump as the initiator of these payments. Bragg took over the investigation on 1/1/2022, when he took office as a new Manhattan DA, and as the case was well under way.
Letitia James began her investigation into the trump organization in March 2019.
Fanni Willis opened her investigation in early January 2021.
DOJ opened an investigation into the Jan 6 riot on Jan 7, 2021. Garland was appointed AG on March 11, 2021.
So how much earlier was the insurrection clearer than any of the other cases? It appears they all started long ago, some longer ago than the insurrection itself, not to mention the theft of documents that likely happened, in late January 2021 when Trump left the White House, and was revealed much later.
And none of the above attorneys, except Garland, were involved in investigating either the insurrection or theft of documents.
But somehow Garland is the one who was late to the game? Sorry, this doesn't add up.

(5,455 posts)to me. Garland had the evidence of Jan 6 in March when he was appointed. End of conversation. And the evidence in the documents case is even clearer. Nothing done there so he slides out of it by appointing a special counsel. Nothing will convince me Dump couldn't have been held accountable LONG before he began his run for 2024. Bragg puts Garland to shame. Period. I'm done.

(13,283 posts)And about 1000 more cases related to his investigation than the others. Give or take a couple.
Unless, of course, you are assuming that Garland started an investigation of his own before he was appointed, and the others waited to begin theirs until after Garland was appointed. And even under this fantastic assumption, Garland would be late to the game compared to the others.
You are entitled to your own assumptions, but not your own calendar.

(97,646 posts)They did, are doing, the hard work and long tedious hours.
They endured both ridicule and threats of violence while doing their jobs. It was and is complicated. Every time they pulled a thread it led to another and then another. I find it unbelievable that so many people believe a case with so many players envolved would be a simple open and shut case.
Thanks for your OP, Beastly Boy.
